If you want a good laugh you should go read Trump’s new Op-Ed on Fox News. Not only is it glaringly obvious that he didn’t write it (it actually has full sentences and coherent thoughts), but it’s so full of outright lies and exaggerations that you can’t help but laugh at how ridiculous it is. Yet we all know that there are people out there who are going to just eat it up and believe every word of it, never once bothering to check if a single word of it is true or not. That fact makes me extremely sad for them…
Here’s the reality, though. Everything Trump takes credit for–job growth, surging economy, increased manufacturing jobs, etc.–are all trends that were in place before he took office. He did not start anything, everything that was already in motion simply continued the path it was already on. Job growth was actually higher in Obama’s last year than it was in Trump’s first or second year. The stock market was already setting records before Trump came into office. Nothing he has done, none of his policies, have added to that trend in any way. He is simply riding the wave of what Obama started, and if you are unwilling to admit to that fact then you are simply lying to yourself.
Obama took over the presidency right in the middle of the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression, and the numbers for his first two years are terrible. I mean, epically bad… But from those depths, everything started getting better thanks to his administration’s policies. Republicans don’t want you to remember that. They don’t want you to remember that the nation was already doing better in 2016 than it had been in 2007 when Bush was still in office and the Great Recession was about to hit us all.
Anybody who has such a low regard for the truth should not be in the position he is in
Yet in his article, Trump claims it was all the Republicans that made the turnaround happen and Democrats are the devil. When you actually look at the numbers, when you look at facts, none of his claims hold water. He also talks a lot about his tax cuts, but conveniently fails to mention the fact that it is going to add $1 trillion to our deficit.
Anybody who has such a low regard for the truth should not be in the position he is in. Anybody who will flat out lie to benefit himself at every turn needs to be controlled. A person who has such thin skin that he will attack anybody who criticizes him, no matter what their political spectrum is, should not be in a position of power. He stands by and for nothing but himself, and will take us all down if it means that in his scared little brain that he ultimately wins somehow.
Go vote. And go vote for people who actually support the health, education, and pursuit of happiness for ALL American citizens. Go vote for science and progress, not fearmongering and greed.
I beg of you to see him for what he is and don’t believe his lies and propaganda. This is not the person you thought he was. He’s a scam artist, and not who we want representing the United States. All of his policies are, at best, a short-term solution that benefits you slightly for a couple of years but helps corporations forever, and does nothing at all to help future generations of US Citizens. At worst, they are blatant scams to benefit himself and his other billionaire buddies. We have to think long-term and do more to guarantee the success of future generations. It’s not all about us. It’s not all about here and now. Our grandchildren will suffer greatly if this man is allowed to continue destroying our environment, alienating our allies, and sinking the United States deeper and deeper into debt.
Go vote. And go vote for people who actually support the health, education, and pursuit of happiness for ALL American citizens. Go vote for science and progress, not fearmongering and greed. Go vote for America to once again be that shining city on the hill that leads the world in freedom and justice that it was meant to be.
